2009 Term Dates - ACT Catholic Schools

Clause 7.15.3 of the Teachers and Principals Collective Agreement 2007-2009 states that
all ACT employees “will participate in at least 5 days of approved planning and staff
development including 4 days in designated stand-down periods. Schools can determine 3
days in this fashion through negotiation with staff. The CEO may choose to determine 1
day of professional development to cover system priorities. The remaining day will be able
to be negotiated by employees as part of their annual individual professional development
program.”
In regard to the 4 days in stand-down time, school staffs may agree to use the 3 days from
27 January – 29 January, before the designated Staff Planning Day on 30 January,
for staff development. The remaining day in stand-down time, as well as any other day(s)
substituted in lieu of using a day between 27 - 29 January, will need to be used by school
staffs in other stand-down periods during the school year.
