It is the role of the Catholic Education Commission to formulate and make recommendations on policies relating to Catholic schools in the Archdiocese. Such policies are subject to the agreement of the Archbishop who has the ultimate responsibility for Catholic education within the Archdiocese.

It is the primary function of the Commission to help the Catholic educational vision or identity take shape within the Archdiocese by setting broad educational objectives
for Catholic schools. The Commission exists to serve the Catholic Community and provides a forum for consultation.
